In 1971 graduated from the Kyiv State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, Faculty of English and obtained the qualification of English and French languages teacher.
Working as an English teacher at the Thermal Power Department of NTUU “KPI”, Lidia Shilina teaches the disciplines “English Language”, “English Language for professional direction”, “English Language for professional direction (advanced) for masters”.
At the department, she is responsible for the “Engineer’s Language Portfolio” section, the main task of which is to develop a student’s language portfolio for successful language learning.
Lydia Shilina participates in all-Ukrainian and international scientific conferences and seminars.
She teaches students writing scientific articles in their speciality in English, writing speeches for Ukrainian and international conferences, and prepares them to participation in Ukrainian and international Olympiades.
Lydia Shilina is the author of the curriculum for students of the 4th year at the full-time department on the course “Language Practice”.
Lydia Shilina is the author of scientific publications, including “The role of communicative exercises in overcoming certain difficulties in the educational process during the global transition to the distance learning method” and “The growing role of the teacher’s personality in the harmonization of the educational process in modern universities” (“Bulletin of NTUU KPI”.
Lydia Shilina constantly attends professional trainings and seminars.
