HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 5TH INTERNATIONAL ONLINE CONFERENCE “CORPORA AND DISCOURSE”

the 5th International Online Conference “Corpora and Discourse”

On 26 November 2025, the 5th International Online Conference “Corpora and Discourse” was successfully held at the Department of English for Engineering No. 1, Faculty of Linguistics, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The event once again brought together researchers in applied linguistics, corpus technologies, and discourse studies.

This year, the conference featured 61 presentations, including 10 plenary talks and numerous sectional presentations delivered by experienced scholars.

The conference was enriched by contributions from leading international experts representing Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Among them were: Assoc. Prof. Meriem Beloucif (Sweden), Assoc. Prof. Nicole Veelo (Norway), Prof. Roksolana Povoroznyuk (Ukraine), Prof. Ivana Krsmanović (Serbia), Prof. Alicia Rodriguez-Alvarez (Spain), Prof. Yuliia Nenko (Ukraine), Senior Lecturers María Fernanda Irrazabal Paz and Carla María Miotti (Argentina), Assistant Prof. Lena Tica (Serbia), Assoc. Their plenary talks addressed key issues in modern linguistics and education, digital competence, intercultural communication, discourse analysis, and innovations in teaching and professional training. Recordings of selected plenary talks and presentations are available on the conference’s YouTube channel for those who wish to revisit or explore the discussions.

The conference reaffirmed Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’s status as an international platform for scholarly exchange and the advancement of linguistic research.

The Organising Committee of the Faculty of Linguistics and the Department of  English for Engineering No. 1 extends sincere gratitude to all participants for their active involvement, constructive discussions, and high-quality research contributions.
